What Do YOU Wear to Bed?

You know Valentine's Day is getting close when waves of bewildered-looking men descend on the negligee section of their local department store asking for 'something sexy'. As women we know what our men probably wish we were wearing between the sheets every night, but do ordinary women really wear sexy things to bed?

What I probably SHOULD wear this Valentines Day:

So, this little number from Victoria's Secret is what I wore to greet Patrick the last time he was out of town for an extended period. It was cute and fun and he was definitely surprised, but it felt like dress-up - in both a good and a bad way.

Good in that it was special and exciting but also bad in that it felt kinda silly and forced, which is what made me start wondering - are there women out there who actually dress like this every night?

Now believe me - I know that as these kinds of things go, this is VERY tame - I'm definitely not pushing any envelopes here. But as a fairly new bride it made me start to wonder... maybe I SHOULD start dressing like this more often?

What I probably WILL wear on Valentine's Day:

Now - THIS is much more my style.

Warm, cozy, comfy and I don't have to worry about any body parts popping out when I lean over to grab the remote. Or maybe the point is that I shouldn't be reaching for the remote when I'm trying to be all sexy anyway!?

I think that the biggest reason women don't dress in thong teddies around the house or in bed is because well, they are uncomfortable. But also because most men like to keep the thermostat turned so far down! This is a constant battle in my house - I walk around freezing all the time! So, maybe dressing like Nanook is just our way of preventing hypothermia!

But to be honest, I don't even usually dress in anything as nice as this cozy velour outfit. More often it's a mismatched, stretched out, long t-shirt and a pair of flannel pants with a hole in them somewhere. THAT is probably not ok.

So, starting this Valentine's Day I am making a new resolution (because Lord knows the ones from New Year's were broken long ago) to try to up my Pajama Game. I am going to go through my dresser drawers and throw away everything with holes or stains. I'm going to at least try to have my tops match my bottoms and be marginally clean. No scratch that - completely clean. Or at least not smell - Ha Ha (just kidding babe).

I have a wonderful, remarkable, hard working and hot husband. It really is the least I can do.

Happy Valentine's Day honey.

The cozy pajama set above is from Macys and is 75% off right now!! Available in 4 colors and styles it is under $15! I think everyone on my list may be getting this particular set for Christmas next year! (if the link won't work enter " Charter Club Plush Appliqué Pajama Set" into Macy's search bar)

The pink lace slip is from Victoria's Secret and has been buried for so long that I practically had to brush the cobwebs off of it to wear it, but similar styles can be found here (comes in 7 colors and has long sleeves to help with the cold temps!) and here in velvet for half price (the reviews are amazing and I am ordering this one right now!)

Victoria's Secret is offering the cutest tote bag with a purchase of $85 or more (Code: LOVETOTE) and free two day shipping on purchases over $125 (Code: 2DAY125) - so no excuses girls! Because honestly - there are only a couple of days every year you really need to up your game - and Valentine's Day is definitely one of them!

Happy Valentines Day from London!
