Life is like a cactus...

In a world where you can be anything.... don't be a prick

The Beverly Hills Cactus Garden Cactus Cactus Graphic Tee in Gold

Let's all try to be kind in this weird world of Social Distancing

Had a carpet installer and a painter come by the house today and shook BOTH of their hands 🤦‍♀️. These new social norms are REALLY hard to get used to! Let’s face it - it’s unnatural to not greet each other with handshakes or hugs. Standing 6 feet apart is just WEIRD!! Luckily we just kind of awkwardly laughed and then washed our hands.

On the other hand (see what I did there?) my daughter who lives in Florida said that strangers make fun of her and are actually aggressive towards her when she is wearing a mask in the grocery store. Why? We're all just trying to figure this out - and we all have our own levels of what we are comfortable with. I also heard there is a lot of hatred and discrimination being directed towards the Asian community. This is a global pandemic. Now of all times is when we should be working together as one to beat this thing!

Don’t be a ..... cactus 😉

Reaching over my head for this photo I ended up with a fistful of thorns 😢

A good reminder to myself when dealing with people in social situations - think of them as if they are a cactus.... and don’t get too close!!! 😂 By the way - who knew that cacti have hundreds of tiny hair-like spikes that are impossible to remove (and hurt like heck!)? I thought they just had big huge thorns that could impale you! Clearly this native New Englander had no idea what she was dealing with!

Totally obsessed with all things "Cacti" now and found some of the cutest cactus clothes and decor to share including this cute gold graphic tee from Target (on sale for only $8 as I type this)!

So here is my round up of everything "prickly" from the cutest doormat to cactus candles and a men's swimsuit that I love (and if there is an double entendre to be found there, I am not touching it!

So what do you all think about using cactus in your decor? I think it is a great way to add a touch of whimsy and perfect for this time of social distancing! Experts also say that having greenery and plants in your home is calming - but anything I have to worry about killing and hiring someone to take care of when I'm out of town is nothing but stressful to me! That's why cacti (real or artificial) are the perfect home plants! No watering - no stress! Be sure and "stick" with fake if you have children or pets in the house though! Trust me - I learned the hard way!

See you next time babes - and until then... remember the lesson of the cactus - and be kind to each other.

I'm

...and that's my Story
